Our company was founded in 1977 in Eiheiji, Fukui Prefecture,
place famous for its inhabitants’ healthy lifestyle and longevity.
We take pride in our top-class tofu production,
including its top rated sesame tofu which holds a large share in the Japanese market ,
and our restaurant “SACHIYA” located near the Eiheiji temple.
(*Sesame tofu; a total of more than 40 million portions shipped.)

We are well-known for our capabilities when it comes to creating strong tofu,
and sesame-based products.

Our flagship product is our “sesame tofu”, a famous Eiheiji specialty.
We also have innovative tofu products based on traditional Buddhist “shoujin cooking”
and traditional tofu cuisine, as well as soymilk sweets.

We use groundwater drawn from the Hakusan mountain ,
and all of our carefully selected ingredients are of the highest quality,
allowing our consumers to enjoy our products with peace of mind.

Certification
For 9 consecutive years (for a total of 10 times),
we have won awards at the Japanese Agriculture Ministry’s “Hometown Food Contest”.
Our “soymilk chocolate” has been awarded the Minister of Agriculture’s special prize.
Our “sesame tofu” won an award at the Monde Selection 2012.
We have been ISO22000-certified since 2007.

About Sesame tofu
Ordinary sesame tofu undergoes retort sterilization which gives it a hard, powdery substance.
Our product is processed with as little heat as possible,leaving a smooth, sticky texture, and just made freshness.
We use a combination of instant heating and CAS special freezing equipment.
(CAS: From merely freezing foods advanced to the technology of reviving tastiness by cells texture alive.)

About Eiheiji
Eiheiji-cho,Fukui with our company is beside the Eiheiji most famous for Japan
the Dogen Zen priest was open about 800years ago as a practice exercise hall of the zen of Japan.
Even now, he is a monk practicing as ceticism. In the traditional style, about 300 persons are continuing severe practice.

As one of the practice of the ascetic practice,
the ascetic monk itself is continuing building its meal for about 800years based on an strict rule.
The maigre dish of this Eiheiji is called starting point of a present age Japanese’s eating habits.

The future of a maigre dish
Though severe practice is repeated, without using meat and a fish, it is a meal based on vegetables.
The “ maigre dish ” bome by the view of maintaining nutrional balance and health and valuing a living thing.
It is the cooking method of using a delicious dish by using the ordinary foods which material efficiently to the utmost.
